Acta Pharmacologica Sinica (APS)was listed in the most influential periodicals at the awards ceremony of the 60th anniversary of China on Dec 21-23, 2009 in Beijing. The prize was awarded by China Periodicals Association and Chinese Institute of Publishing Science.

APS, sponsored by the Chinese Pharmacological Society and SIMM, was founded in 1980. With the efforts of several generations of pharmacologists and editors, APS made great achievements. APS published quarterly in Chinese in 1980, and published monthly in English in 2000. In 2005, APS launched the ScholarOne ManuscriptsTM (Thomson Reuters) for online submission and peer review. From 2005 to 2008, APS was co-published by the Blackwell Publishing, which comprehensively opened the overseas distribution of online version. Since 2009, APS is co-published by Nature Publishing Group (NPG). APS will be able to take advantage of NPG’s strengths including editorial expertise, pioneering web technologies, innovative formats and high-quality production to provide premium information for scientific researchers in the public and private sectors, government agencies and educators. Papers published in APS will receive high exposure through the platform of nature.com. APS is also supported by the grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Scientific Publishing Foundation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the China Association for Science and Technology.
