The unveiling ceremony of the Joint Laboratory of Drug Research co-built by Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIMM, CAS) and Institute of Biophysics (IBP) under CAS was held in IBP on Jan. 17, 2011.
Combing the research strengths from State Key Laboratory of Drug Research under SIMM and National Laboratory of Biomacromolecules under IBP, the joint lab embodies national strength in integrating protein science with novel drug research.
To meet national strategic need, the lab was designed to develop novel drugs based on protein science as well as undertake key drug research programs of China.
The establishment of the joint lab initiates a new phase of cooperation for the two sides.
