The research project entitled “Characteristics and molecular mechanisms of specific organs toxicity and metabolism induced by derivatives of LeiGongTeng, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)”, received the first-class Scientific and Technical Award of CPA (Chinese Pharmaceutical Association) at the National Pharmaceutical Congress in Beijing Dec. 7, 2016. This project was conducted by the research team from the Centre for Drug Safety and Evaluation research (CDSER) of Shanghai Institute of Material Medica (SIMM), Chinese Academy of Sciences. The principal team members are REN Jin, QI Xinming and GONG Likun, etc. The representative prize winners received the awards from state leaders.
The research findings provide theoretical basis for the LeiGongTeng-based drugs in clinical trials and opened up a new pathway for the inheritance of TCM, new drug discovery and development and transformation Toxicology.
