On 23 May 2011, at the invitation of Prof. Liguang Lou, Professor Shile Huang from Louisiana State University visited Shanghai Institute of MateriaMedica for academic exchanges and delivered an academic lecture titled “mTOR regulation of cell motility”. Prof. Huang introduced the progress of mTOR research in his group --mainly focusing on the role of mTOR-related signaling transduction including Raptor and Rictor of mTOR complex, signal molecules S6K1,4E-BP1, Akt and the signal transduction cascade of PP2A-Erk in tumor cell motility. Professor Shile Huang is an associate Professor (with tenure) of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and is the director of Cell Motility and Invasion Group in Feist-Weiller Cancer Center. His research interests focus on mTOR signaling in tumor cell motility and mechanisms of molecular target drugs. He published numerous papers in Mol Cell Biol、Cancer Res、Oncogene、J Biol Chem、Free Radic Biol Med、PloS ONE、J Neurochem etc.
