On May 10th, Prof. Minoru ISOBE from National TsingHua University (Taiwan) visited Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica for academic exchanges and delivered an academic lecture with the title of ‘Stereocontrol in the synthesis of natural products: New methods toward Solanoeclepin, Gibberellin, Prostaglandin, Malyngamide, etc.’.The lecture gets high attention from the attendees, including Prof. BAI Donglu, Prof. NAN Fajun, Prof. HU Youhong and so on.
Prof.ISOBE worked in Nagoya University and now is Professor Emeritus of Nagoya University. He is also NSC Chair Professor of National TsingHua University and Professor Emeritus of SIMM. Prof. ISOBEis dedicated to the research of organic chemistry, natural product chemistry and bioorganic chemistry. He has done distinguished work especially in total synthesis of natural products (vernolepin, maytansine, okadaic acid, tautomycin,tetrodotoxin, ciguatoxin etc.) with stereochemical control.
