On 26th December, the release and application seminar on D3Pharma was held by Drug Discovery and Design Center (DDDC), Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica and NeoTrident Technology LTD (NTT).  D3Pharma with independent intellectual property rights is a software package for molecular modeling and drug design. During research, the project on making D3Pharma got supports from National 863 Program and headed by Professors Weiliang ZHU and Xiaomin LUO.  Professors Weiliang ZHU and Xiaomin LUO together with NTT took about 3 years to develop D3Pharma.. Now, the software package has some basic functions such as molecular modeling and simulation, target and ligand based drug discovery and design, chemo- bio-informatics etc.. Some modules in the software package have been successfully transplanted to the drug design platform based on Pipeline Pilot work flow. More than 70 representatives attended the seminar, who are from more than 20 colleges, research institutions and drug industries throughout the country.

At the seminar, Professor Weiliang ZHU introduced D3Pharma.’s functions and further research plan. Mr. Xinben ZHANG and Mr. Zifu HUANG demonstrated how to use D3Pharma with Windows or Linux, respectively. Mr. Yi LIN from NTT introduced the independent module developed on the Pipeline Pilot work flow platform. Professor Hualiang Jiang (deputy director of SIMM), Dr. Zheng WANG,(director of Dept. computational chemistry, ChemExplorer Ltd.), Professor Renxiao WANG from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry and Dr. Wei FU( associate professor of Fudan University ) all gave reports on subjects such as drug research and discovery and application of the related software etc. Theattendees gave positive evaluation opinion on D3Pharma and hoped to strengthen the cooperation with SIMM to make D3Pharma better. After the seminar, more than 15 organizations signed purchase or test agreements on D3Pharma. with SIMM.
