The Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica is a senior member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a mission to provide comprehensive solutions to drug discovery and development. As part of an exciting new alliance with AstraZeneca, a major international pharmaceutical company, we would like to invite you to join our open, friendly and supportive team based in a new purpose built facility located in Shanghai. 

　　You will be working in a GLP environment and will have the opportunity to receive professional training in AstraZeneca’s own research and development facilities in Europe.

　　As an experienced Clinical Pathologist you will conduct pre-clinical evaluations for all phases of pharmaceutical development, evaluate, interpret and provide concise written reports on clinical pathology findings observed in pre-clinical GLP compliant toxicology studies.You will provide advice regarding clinical pathology endpoints and biochemical markers for monitoring toxicity as well as conduct validations of methods, instruments and computerised laboratory information systems. You will provide expert clinical pathology consultation supporting innovative toxicology studies as part of the alliance with AstraZeneca.

　　You should have significant experience in clinical pathology and possess a Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent professional qualification, or PhD in Pathology. Board Certification would be an asset with papers published in peer reviewed scientific journals.

　　 We need someone who can demonstrate leadership, with the ability to motivate a team, strong organizational skills and a commitment to standards within a regulatory environment. You should be able to speak English to a high standard, and have a knowledge of Chinese.
