The Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica is a senior member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a mission to provide comprehensive solutions to drug discovery and development. As part of an exciting alliance with AstraZeneca, a major international pharmaceutical company, we would like to invite you to join our open, friendly and supportive team based in a new purpose built facility located in Shanghai.

You will be working in a GLP environment and will have the opportunity to receive professional training in AstraZeneca’s own research and development facilities in Europe.

As a Facilities Manager with experience of safety evaluation studies and facility operations you will be responsible for managing the animal and laboratory areas. You will lead a small team of Animal Sciences Specialists, organising and scheduling daily work patterns as well as holding regular consultation with relevant staff within SIMM and AstraZeneca.

You should have a BSc in a relevant science or engineering discipline. You will have knowledge of the requirements of pre-clinical toxicology, Good Laboratory Practice and a working knowledge of ventilation plant, building management systems and maintenance for laboratory and animal vivarium spaces. You will also have a high concern for standards, good communication skills and you should be able to speak English to a high standard.
