Dr. HE Yuanzheng, Assistant Professor of Structural Science and Molecular Signaling, from Van Andel Institute, visited Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica on Dec. 15, 2015, and delivered an academic lecture titled “Design and development of next generation glucocorticoids for treatment of inflammatory diseases”.

The lecture mainly introduced the function and mechanism of glucocorticoids recepto. Glucocorticoids receptor is an important anti-inflammatory drug targets, but glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone has adverse effects (i.e. diabetes and osteoporosis). Dr. He introduced their research progress in design and development of next generation of anti-inflammatory drug.

The lecture intrigued a hot discussion between Professor HE and the attendees.
