On November 11th, Prof. Vladmir Popovic, State Secretary and Dr. Nicola Tanic, assistant Minister from Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia visited Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), CAS. Prof. YE Yang, deputy director general of SIMM, hosted a panel discussion with the Serbian delegation. SIMM Professors YANG Chuanhao, LAN Lefu, GAO Zhaobing, ZHANG Haiyan and XIE Hua participated in the meeting. 

Prof. YE Yang made a brief introduction to the guests, with focus on SIMM strategies of the Belt and Road Initiative and international cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road. Both sides agreed to promote scientific and technological collaboration on drug discovery research. Afterwards, Prof. Vladmir Popovic and Dr. Nicola Tanic had a campus tour to the SIMM Exhibition Hall, the Center for Drug Safety Evaluation Research (CDSER) and Chinese National Compound Library (CNCL).
