On February 27, 2025, the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM) of Chinese Academy of Sciences held the 2025 International Students Admission Interview. A total of 15 supervisors from research bases in Shanghai, Zhongshan and Yantai participated online interviews. The selected candidates will proceed to the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) for final review of scholarship applications.

During this recruitment season, SIMM received applications from over 130 candidates for master and Ph.D. programs, representing 21 countries and regions. Following an initial review by potential supervisors and Graduate Education Department of SIMM, 18 candidates successfully advanced the second interview round. Throughout the interviews, supervisors comprehensively evaluated candidates' academic backgrounds, research capabilities, and future development potential. Meanwhile, candidates gained deeper insights into SIMM and their prospective supervisors, further strengthening their commitment to pursuing studies at SIMM in China.

The centralized admission interview for international students is a critical step in selecting outstanding candidates as well as an essential component of SIMM's recruitment promotional efforts. It contributes to improving quality of international student enrollment, enhancing global exchange and collaboration, and strengthening SIMM's international reputation and influence.
