TCM Modernization Research Center
TCM Modernization Research Center was established by Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica in 2004, aiming to study traditional Chinese medicines, and to lay a solid foundation for the modernization and internationalization of TCM. The center has a team of more than 100 high-level professionals engaging in modernization research of TCM and the advanced equipment, and has undertaken more than 200 projects of National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Natural Science Foundation of China, and local funds.
The center pioneers in construction of TCM standard system and elaboration of international standards, and successfully developed TCM innovative drug named "Depsides Salts from Salvia miltiorrhiza and Its Injection",which has benefited more than 10 million patients. In the last 9 years, the center has been awarded second rate of the National Natural Science Award, the National Technical Invention Award, and the National Science and Technology Progress Award, respectively.
