Dr. XUAN Lijiang, professor, was born in Haining, Zhejiang province in 1967. In 1990 he obtained his PhD degree on natural products chemistry in Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His primary research focus is on the development of modernized TCM and innovative drugs, drawing on the chemical and pharmacological exploring of TCM. To date, Dr. Xuan has secured 3 drug approvals, published 100 academic papers, and mentored over 40 Master or PhD students. One of his notable achievement is the development of Salvia Miltiorrhiza Depsides Salts, a modernized TCM has achieved annual sales in the billions and has been prescribed to millions of patients. This success has earned him a series of prestigious awards in China, including the National Invention award and the Outstanding Science and technology achievement Price from Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was named as National Outstanding Worker in recognition of his significant contributions to the research and development of new drug.
