Dr. XUAN Lijiang, professor, was born in Haining, Zhejiang province in 1967. In 1990 he obtained PhD degree on natural products chemistry in Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His major research interest is to develop modernized TCM and innovative drug based on the chemical and pharmacological investigation of TCM. Till now, he has already obtained 3 drug license, published 80 papers and over 30 Master or PhD student were graduated in his lab. Salvia Miltiorrhiza Depsides Salts, a successful modernized TCM with billions annual sales and applied to millions patients, was his outstanding achievement. Owing to his contribution for the R&D of this innovative drug, he obtained series of important awards in China, such as National Invention award, Outstanding Science and technology achievement Price of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Series of Grants, including National Science & Technology Major Project, National Natural Science Foundation, Strategic Priority Research Program of Chinese Academy of Science and etc. were obtained.
