Biography
YANG Dehua obtained his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009 followed by postdoctoral training at Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. After joining Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica in 2012 as an associate professor, his work has mainly been directed towards structure and functional studies on class B G protein-coupled receptors, namely glucagon and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptors. He participated in the determination of the 3-D structures and conformational states of both receptors, as well as elucidation of their molecular mechanism for ligand-receptor selectivity. He was promoted to full professor in 2017.

1) The conformational states and experimental validation of full-length GCGR.
2) The molecular determinants for ligand selectivity of both GCGR and GLP-1R.
3) The roles of a naturally occurring mutation V368M on GCGR-mediated glucose homeostasis and pancreatic functions.
3. High-throughput screening of small molecules targeting GPCRs
Establishing novel screening models and conducted the high-throughput screening targeting GLP-1R, GCGR and RXFP4.
